Role Overview
We're hiring an Environmental Specialist to join our onsite HSE technical team supporting Kodak’s Specialty Chemicals, Inks and Dispersions (SCID) manufacturing. The technical team provides direct, operational HSE support services, and this role will particularly focus on environmental compliance and reporting, as well as identifying and mitigating environmental hazards associated with chemical manufacturing operations.
As an Environmental Specialist, you will focus on preventing pollution and providing a safe and healthy workplace for Kodak employees and others. You will work with a team of HSE Specialists and report to the SCID HSE Manager, ensuring operations comply with regulatory requirements, conform to internal standards, and meet sustainability objectives. The operations span multiple buildings and include 24/7 operations, over 200 employees, and ten supervisors. The successful candidate must actively engage with cross-functional peers in HSE, Operations, and Facilities, to address workplace health, safety, and environmental concerns and improve overall performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide environmental technical support to ensure the operations follow all air quality, water quality, waste management, and any other applicable environmental regulations and permit requirements.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document compliance with environmental permit conditions. Complete environmental reporting including SARA, TRI, and Title V Air reports.
- Participate in management of change reviews and job hazard analyses to identify and evaluate hazards, recommend occupational exposure controls such as PPE, and provide guidance for the disposition of waste.
- Oversee the relationship with third-party service providers for the compliant management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, empty container disposition, and expired material management.
- Assist with emergency response for environmental releases.
- Participate in incident and near-miss investigations, identify, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide HSE guidance for new product development.
- Support the hazard communication program, address questions concerning Safety Data Sheets, Kodak Hazard Ratings, and communicate changes to appropriate staff.
- Deliver environmental training to department personnel.
- Provide input for standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Monitor and determine applicability of new regulatory requirements and implement changes to ensure conformance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
