About the job: Kent is seeking an Environmental Technical Specialist – Oil and Gas to join our growing Environmental Team within the Oil & Gas market in Aberdeen. This is a pivotal opportunity to help shape a new and expanding team, strengthen our technical capability, and enhance Kent’s presence and reputation across the sector. Skills & Responsibilities: Overall technical lead for all environmental support to UK Oil and Gas projects. Lead technical delivery to ensure high‑quality environmental input across projects. Conduct environmental and sustainability consultancy scopes for the Oil and Gas sector. Provide strategic environmental guidance and advice to clients. Produce, review, check and approve technical reports to ensure accuracy and quality. Lead and mentor junior specialists on projects, providing technical and professional guidance. Prepare cost estimates for new work scopes. Manage projects to ensure delivery in line with agreed scope, budget and schedule. Engage directly with clients to maintain effective working relationships. Support team capacity building, including recruitment aligned with demand. In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Extensive experience delivering environmental and sustainability services. Degree(s) in a relevant subject area. Strong experience delivering environmental and sustainability services within UK Oil & Gas market, ideally within the Aberdeen market. Experience leading technical scopes and meeting delivery/cost targets without compromising quality. Strong understanding of relevant legislation and industry standards, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively. Ability to prepare high‑quality technical reports and review others’ work. Experience in a client‑facing technical role Extensive experience delivering environmental and sustainability services. Degree(s) in a relevant subject area. Strong experience delivering environmental and sustainability services within UK Oil & Gas market, ideally within the Aberdeen market. Experience leading technical scopes and meeting delivery/cost targets without compromising quality. Strong understanding of relevant legislation and industry standards, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively. Ability to prepare high‑quality technical reports and review others’ work. Experience in a client‑facing technical role Experience contributing to bids and proposals from a technical perspective Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve technical quality, processes, or team capability Network of existing clients and industry contacts beneficial Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable explaining environmental requirements to senior management. Strong client engagement skills focused on clarity and technical assurance. Able to lead teams and establish clear communication routines. Behaviour/ Core Competencies: Proactive team player with excellent problem‑solving skills. Highly organised and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment. Empathetic to team needs and supportive of colleagues’ development. Resilient to fluctuating workloads typical in consultancy. Flexible and able to balance technical delivery with team leadership. Able to manage their own workload and coordinate others.
