Programme Planner – BESS & Grid Infrastructure (Contract)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing EPC contractor delivering utility-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and grid infrastructure projects across the UK. This role will see you play a key part in the successful planning and delivery of major renewable energy projects, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams.
This is an initial 3-month contract with a high likelihood of extension, operating outside IR35. The position is full-time, based in the Glasgow office, with an immediate start preferred.
The Role
As Senior Programme Planner, you will be responsible for developing and managing integrated project schedules across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage planning through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and final handover. You will work closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders to provide accurate programme reporting, identify risks, and support successful project delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
