EPR Project Manager – Critical Role
We are seeking an experienced EPR Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a major Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation and transformation programme.
This is a critical role, responsible for managing the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of EPR deployment activities, ensuring the programme delivers clinical, operational, and organisational benefits.
Working closely with clinical stakeholders, operational teams, IT departments, suppliers, and senior leadership, you will drive project delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with programme objectives, governance requirements, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of EPR implementation and change initiatives
- Develop and maintain detailed:
- Project plans and schedules
- Risk registers
- Reporting documentation
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including:
- Clinical
- Operational
- Technical
- Training
- Change management resources
- Manage project scope, timelines, dependencies, and budget requirements
- Ensure effective stakeholder engagement across all organisational levels
- Facilitate governance meetings, steering groups, and project boards
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues
- Manage supplier and third-party relationships to ensure contractual deliverables are achieved
- Oversee:
- Testing
- Training
- Deployment
- Cutover
- Go-live activities
- Support benefits realisation and post-implementation optimisation
- Ensure compliance with:
- NHS standards
- Information governance
- Regulatory requirements (where applicable)
- Produce regular project status reports for:
- Programme leadership
- Executive stakeholders

Essential Experience
✅ Experience implementing systems such as:
- Epic
- Oracle Health (Cerner)
- MEDITECH
- Allscripts
- Nervecentre
- RiO
- Lorenzo
- Similar EPR solutions
✅ Proven experience delivering large-scale EPR, EMR, EHR, or digital healthcare transformation programmes

✅ Demonstrable track record in managing complex system implementations, from initiation through:
- Go-live
- Stabilisation
✅ Experience working within healthcare environments, preferably:
- NHS organisations
- Equivalent healthcare providers
✅ Strong project management expertise using recognised methodologies, such as:
- PRINCE2
- MSP
- Agile
- PMP
✅ Experience managing multiple stakeholders across:
- Clinical
- Operational
- Technical teams
✅ Strong background in:
- Risk management
- Issue resolution
- Dependency management
- Budget oversight
✅ Excellent:
- Communication skills
- Facilitation skills
- Stakeholder management
Desirable Experience
🔹 Knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operational processes
🔹 Experience leading organisational change and adoption programmes
🔹 Familiarity with:
- NHS digital standards
- Interoperability
- Data migration projects
