Position Overview
The Data Center Equipment Sales Engineer drives the promotion and sale of Equipment solutions to new and existing clients, with a focus on generating new business, building relationships, and hitting sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and target potential customers in industries requiring Equipment solutions for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and Process Cooling.
- Develop and execute sales strategies, converting leads into sales opportunities.
- Conduct market research to spot trends, competitors, and new business opportunities.
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline, updating the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system with accurate data.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to support sales efforts.
Technical Expertise
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of Equipment solutions in HVAC and Process Temperature Control, including process chiller units, temperature control units, and related installations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to help customers select the best Equipment solutions for their needs.
- Conduct site visits to assess customer requirements and propose tailored solutions.
- Work with engineering and project management teams to customise designs based on customer specifications.

Customer Relationship Management
- Build and nurture strong customer relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.
- Understand and meet customer needs to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to address concerns and proactively address evolving needs.
- Offer post-sales support, including troubleshooting, maintenance advice, and technical coordination.
Sales Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare regular sales reports, including forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance metrics.
- Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to drive growth.
- Provide actionable insights to management to refine strategies and achieve business objectives.
Internal controls and growth
- Commit to internal code of conduct and ethical compliance.
- Take ownership of personal development through My Learning.
- Align personal and business goals to meet bonus targets and performance expectations from customers, stakeholders, and line managers.
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the line manager.
Skills & Experience
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification or applied experience in engineering or a related field (advantageous).
- Proven sales experience in customer relationship management, ideally within HVAC or refrigeration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building lasting client relationships.
- Ability to analyze customer needs and recommend suitable solutions.
- Self-motivated and performance-driven, with a track record of exceeding sales targets.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Right to work in the UK and a valid, clean driving licence.
