About the Role
A Data Centre Equipment Sales Engineer will promote and sell solutions to both new and existing clients, focusing on driving new business, pipeline growth, and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and target potential customers across industries for Equipment solutions in HVAC and Process Cooling.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to generate high-quality leads and convert them into sales opportunities.
- Conduct market research to assess trends, competition, and emerging opportunities.
- Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline, regularly updating the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and support promotional materials and campaigns.
Technical Expertise
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of Equipment solutions in HVAC and Process Temperature Control, including:
- Process chiller units
- Temperature control units
- related equipment and installation methodologies
- Provide technical advice to customers to guide them in selecting optimal Equipment solutions for their requirements.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate customer needs, enabling tailored and efficient proposals.
- Partner with engineering and project management teams to design and customise Equipment solutions based on specifications.

Customer Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and nurture relationships with existing and potential customers, acting as their trusted advisor.
- Understand and address customer needs, ensuring satisfaction and encouraging repeat business.
- Perform proactive follow-ups to align solutions with evolving customer demands.
- Provide post-sales support, including troubleshooting, maintenance advice, and technical assistance.
Sales Reporting & Analysis
- Generate regular sales reports, including forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance metrics.
- Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Share data-driven insights with management to refine sales strategies and align with business goals.
Internal Guidance
- Adhere to company compliance policies and ethical frameworks.
- Shape your own development path through My Learning platform.
- Align personal performance with company objectives—target bonuses while receiving feedback from peers, stakeholders, and managers.
- Willingness to take on ad hoc tasks as necessary to support company strategy, when directed by your manager.
Skills & Experience
| Preferred Qualifications | Experience |
|---|---|
| Engineering, technical, or related field degree (advantageous) | 3+ years in sales, particularly in HVAC or refrigeration. |
| Self-motivation with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals | Strong relationship-building skills for engaging high-value clients. |
| People-focused communication & negotiation abilities | Technical proficiency in assessing complex customer needs. |
| Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite | Must hold a valid UK right to work and a clean driving license. |
