About the Job
We are recruiting an Equipment and Stores Officer to join the Kirklees Caretaking and Cleaning Service. Our service supports around 900 staff across 200 sites, including schools, council buildings, and partner organisations.
Responsibilities
As an Equipment and Stores Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering cleaning materials, equipment, and specialist machinery to sites across Kirklees as required.
- Performing repairs, servicing, and fault resolution on cleaning machines.
- Ensuring all portable electrical equipment is tested regularly in line with health and safety requirements.
- Maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Supporting the ordering process and managing orders using computer systems.
- Producing regular information reports through computer systems.
- Providing advice, support, and a high standard of service to customers with regular contact.

Requirements and Expectations
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to carry out physical work.
- Experience using computers and digital systems.
- A basic Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) qualification, or a willingness to obtain one.
- Experience in repairing and servicing equipment or machinery.
- Strong organisational skills, prioritisation abilities, and the ability to plan workloads.
Additional Requirements:
- A full and valid driving licence is mandatory. You will either use a council vehicle or your own car to travel to sites across Kirklees.
