Equity Data Scientist | Multi Strategy Fund | London
A top‑tier multi‑strategy investment fund is hiring an Equity Data Scientist to support its fundamental equity investment teams. This role sits close to the front office and focuses on generating data‑driven insights that directly inform investment decisions across multiple sectors. This will be the first London hire into a global sector data team, supporting a group of equity PMs locally while working closely with established teams globally.
The Role You will partner directly with equity PMs and analysts to apply data science techniques to fundamental research. The role blends hands‑on analysis with strong stakeholder interaction and offers meaningful ownership, while benefiting from local support from quant development and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities Generate data‑driven insights to support equity fundamental research across companies and sectors. Work closely with PMs, analysts, alternative data, data engineering, and data sourcing teams to evaluate and apply new datasets. Estimate and project key company and sector KPIs, test hypotheses, and build screeners to support idea generation. Develop data‑driven variables that integrate directly into fundamental valuation and research models. Assess the relevance and quality of new datasets and design custom dashboards, tools, or features for the research desk. Run targeted analytical studies to validate or challenge specific investment ideas.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or related field. Strong programming skills in Python and SQL. Experience analysing complex datasets; exposure to alternative data is a plus. Background in or close alignment with fundamental equity analysis preferred. Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with multiple PMs. Able to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑strategy investment environment.
