Employee Relations Advisor
To provide high-quality, pragmatic Employee Relations Advisor across the business, managing ER cases end-to-end and supporting People Business Partners and line managers to deliver fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
What You'll Do
ER Case Management
- Manage end-to-end ER casework
- Conduct investigations, including interviews, evidence gathering and documentation
- Draft letters, reports and outcome documentation ensuring quality and consistency
- Support managers through ER processes, including hearings and formal meetings
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the ER Manager appropriately
Manager Support & Coaching
- Provide day-to-day ER advice to managers
- Coach managers on:
- Handling difficult conversations
- Applying policies consistently
- Managing risk appropriately
- Support People Business Partners in driving consistent people practices
Compliance & Risk
- Ensure all ER activity aligns with UK employment law and ACAS Code of Practice
- Internal policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate, auditable case records
- Identify risks early and escalate where required

Policy & Process
- Apply ER policies consistently across all casework
- Support improvements to policies, templates, and guidance
- Create letter banks
- Ensure correct use of HR systems and documentation standards
Data, Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate records of ER casework
- Track trends, themes, and recurring issues
- Provide insight to ER Manager and PBPs to support business improvements
Capability Building & Culture
- Support delivery of ER-related training to managers
- Provide “on-the-job” coaching to improve manager confidence and capability
- Promote a culture of fairness, consistency, and early resolution
What You'll Bring
Business Knowledge
- Good understanding of UK employment law and its practical application
- Awareness of operational and reputational risks linked to ER decisions
