Role Description
The ER and Engagement Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Kingdom, focused on supporting colleagues and leaders across the business. In this role, the specialist manages day-to-day employee relations activities, including advising on policies and procedures, supporting investigations, and helping to resolve workplace issues fairly and consistently. The specialist also develops and implements colleague engagement initiatives, gathers feedback, and supports action plans that improve satisfaction, retention, and performance.

Daily responsibilities include:
- Partnering with store and head office teams
- Preparing documentation and reports
- Maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation

The role requires active collaboration with HR, operations, and leadership to promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture aligned with Iceland’s values.
Qualifications
- Employee Relations Skills: Strong experience advising on HR policies, handling grievances and disciplinary matters, and supporting fair and consistent decision-making.
- Engagement and Communication Skills: Ability to design engagement initiatives, gather and interpret colleague feedback, and deliver clear, confident communications to varied audiences.
- HR and Compliance Skills: Knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practices, and accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Stakeholder Management and Collaboration Skills: Ability to build trust, influence leaders, and work effectively with store teams and head office colleagues.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret data, identify trends in employee relations and engagement, and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience: Relevant experience in HR, employee relations, or colleague engagement within retail or a similarly fast-paced environment is beneficial.
- Qualifications: A professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD or equivalent), or progress toward one, is advantageous.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases and projects in a high-pressure environment are important.
