Employee Relations Partner – Hiring at Müller UK & Ireland
Position Overview
Location: Bridgwater or Stroud / Hybrid – 2-3 days per week on site Contract:
- 1 x permanent role
- 1 x 12-month fixed-term contract Hours: Monday–Friday (40 hours, part-time arrangements considered)

About the Role
As the Employee Relations Partner, you will:
- Provide expert HR support to managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence cases, aiming for fair resolutions that benefit both employees and the business.
- Advise on best practice while ensuring UK employment law compliance.
- Utilise regional flexibility, travelling as required to build deep knowledge of assigned partner groups.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management
- Champion a resolution-focused approach for improved business outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Site HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Legal Counsel to align on key ER issues.
People Manager Development
- ** Coach and influence managers** on HR practices, enhancing their confidence and capabilities.
- Lead training programmes for managers on ER processes and responsibilities.
Escalation & Legal Support
- Escalate high-risk, complex cases to Head of HR/HRBPs and Legal Counsel, driving mitigation strategies and minimising PR risk.
- Assist Legal Counsel during employment tribunal preparations.
Data Insights & Trend Analysis
- Analyse internal/externals data to identify people trends and risk indicators.
- Collaborate to develop interventions/change initiatives supporting a positive employee experience and employer brand.
Policy & Risk Mitigation
- Craft proactive HR policies to enhance engagement and reduce risk across the organisation.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
✅ Experience in case management across the employee lifecycle (recruitment to off-boarding). ✅ Proven stakeholder management skills—ability to adapt communication styles and build strong relationships. ✅ Expertise in analysing employee data to inform interventions & insights. ✅ In-depth knowledge of UK employment law + strong grasp of policy updates. ✅ CIPD qualification (Associate/Chartered). ✅ Passionate about continuous improvement, e.g., through change initiatives or HR process optimisation.
Skills & Attributes:
✔ Strong communication & influencing skills across all levels. ✔ Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving ability. ✔ Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines. ✔ Experience in managing KPIs/SLAs and risk mitigation.
