Employee Relations Partner
Location: Bridgwater or Stroud / Hybrid – 2-3 days per week on site Contract: Full-Time (1× permanent role & 1× 12-month fixed-term) Hours: Monday–Friday (40 hours) Flexibility: Part-time arrangements considered

About the Role
As the Employee Relations Partner, you’re a subject matter expert responsible for:
- Delivering specialist advice and support on employee relations, including long-term absence, disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance management, with a focus on fair outcomes for both the business and employees.
- Building strong relationships across assigned regions, requiring flexibility in travel.
- Ensuring full compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies.

Your role spans case management, stakeholder coaching, data insights, and policy development, acting as a bridge between business needs and employee needs.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management
- Advocate a resolution-focused culture to improve business & employee outcomes.
- Collaborate with Site HRBP and Legal Counsel to align on critical employee relations (ER) decisions.
People Manager Development
- Coach and guide people managers on people-related challenges, enhancing their knowledge, capability, and confidence.
- Support in delivering ER training and managing HR processes effectively.
Escalation & Support
- Escalate high-risk disputes to Head of HR and Legal Counsel, shaping solutions to minimise legal and PR risks.
- Provide backing to Legal Counsel in preparing for employment tribunal cases.
Data Insights & Trend Analysis
- Use data trends as insights to employment and business growth opportunities, collaborating with teams to improve organisational change programmes.
- Develop people policies that improve experience, employer brand, and risk mitigation.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for candidates with the following experience and expertise:
- Specialised experience in case management from cradle-to-grave ER scenarios (from early discussions to formal resolutions).
- Exceptional stakeholder management, adept at adjusting communication styles and building strong, trust-based relationships.
- Experience in data analysis, offering employment insights and strategies for improving employee engagement.
- A deep, up-to-date understanding of UK employment law, keeping pace with legal changes.
- Relevant qualification(s) – preferably a specialist employment law certification or CIPD Associate/Chartered membership.
- A passion for HR process improvements with a track record of initiating innovations or operational efficiencies.
- Strong communications skills for influencing and bridging gaps across management levels.
- An analytical mindset with deliverables under pressure, including meeting central service level agreements (SLAs) or KPIs.
