Azure Cloud Engineer - eSC Cleared
Location: Remote-first (occasional travel to London)
Clearance: Active eSC Clearance required
Contract Length: 12 months
I'm looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer with active enhanced SC Clearance (eSC) to join a high-profile programme delivering secure cloud solutions within the UK public sector. You'll be responsible for building, supporting and optimising Azure environments, working alongside architects and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy and support Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Implement monitoring, logging and alerting across Azure services.
- Support cloud migrations and platform modernisation projects.
- Ensure environments meet security, governance and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues across production and non-production environments.

Essential Skills
- Active eSC Clearance.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep or ARM).
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Networking knowledge including VNets, NSGs, Firewalls and Load Balancers.
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Azure Backup.
- PowerShell and/or Python scripting.
- Experience with Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and RBAC.

- Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker.
- Azure Landing Zones.
- Microsoft security tooling including Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305 or equivalent).
