Job Description
Escalator Engineer – Night Shifts in Greater London
Location: Greater London (including Gatwick & Stansted rail stations) Hours: 19:00 – 07:00, 4 on/4 off (12-hour shifts with a 45-minute unpaid break) Salary: Basic salary up to £75K (depending on skills and experience) + Overtime + Benefits + Paid Door-to-Door Travel
Join Stannah as an Escalator Engineer, working across some of the UK’s busiest transport hubs, including key rail and underground sites.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing high-profile escalator systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation across your London patch. Your duties will include servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of escalators and moving walkways at major railway and underground locations.

Key equipment you may work on includes:
- KONE TM, RTV and RTK units
- Schindler 9300 escalators
- Anlev systems
- Otis 506 NCE equipment
The role is varied, technical, and fast-paced, requiring strong fault-finding skills across both mechanical and electrical systems. Your operational area will cover Greater London, including additional work at Gatwick Airport station and Stansted Airport station.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance, repairs, and call-outs on escalators and moving walkways from various manufacturers.
- Ensure high standards of service delivery, safety, and customer care.
- Carry out effective risk assessments and maintain site log cards during every visit.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
🔹 NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering or equivalent qualification. 🔹 Proven experience working on escalators and moving walkways.
Licenses & Certifications
🔹 A valid UK driving license is essential.
