Location: Glasgow (Office Based) Reports To: Group Operations Director Department: Operations Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Basis salary £38-£40K based on experience)
Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK. Resource Data Management is unable to provide Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for this position.
About the Role
RDM is seeking an ESG & Sustainability Analyst (Data & Reporting) to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our ESG and sustainability strategy across global operations. This role sits at the intersection of data, strategy, and operational delivery, acting as a central authority for ESG data, reporting, and performance insights.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the development of scalable ESG reporting through Power BI
- Ensure data accuracy and audit readiness
- Drive improved data ownership and governance across the business.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, HR, Quality, and Engineering
- Influence stakeholders, support strategic decision-making, and embed sustainability into day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
ESG Strategy & Sustainability
- Support and track ESG strategy, targeted objectives, and action plans
- Research industry best practices, customer requirements, and emerging sustainability trends
- Identify opportunities to improve environmental, social, and governance performance across the business
- Provide insight-led recommendations to leadership teams
Data, Reporting & Power BI
- Develop and maintain ESG dashboards and KPI reporting in Power BI
- Create automated, scalable reporting solutions
- Ensure ESG data is accurate, traceable, and audit-ready
- Establish a single source of truth for ESG reporting
- Analyse trends, risks, and opportunities using data insights
- Drive improvements in ESG data governance and reporting accuracy
- Generate automated reports and KPI scorecards for leadership teams

Supplier & Supply Chain Sustainability
- Support supplier ESG data collection, record maintenance, and assessments
- Assist with responsible sourcing and environmental compliance programmes
- Support customer requests regarding sustainability, responsible minerals, and supply chain transparency
Governance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Support EcoVadis and ISO 14001 activities
- Maintain ESG policies, procedures, and evidence
- Support audits and compliance processes
- Promote continuous improvement and sustainability awareness across the business
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in data analysis, sustainability, operations, supply chain, quality, compliance, or a similar business function
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong Power BI dashboard development and reporting experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage and interpret data from multiple systems and stakeholders
Desirable
- Knowledge of ESG or sustainability reporting
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain
- Familiarity with EcoVadis, ISO 14001, or similar frameworks
- Experience with ERP systems and business reporting tools
- Knowledge of ESG regulations and sustainability reporting requirements
Key Performance Indicators
- Accuracy and completeness of ESG reporting
- Adoption and effectiveness of Power BI dashboards
- Improvement in ESG data quality and governance
- Delivery of ESG initiatives and action plans
- Demonstrated improvement in ESG performance metrics
- Audit findings closed within agreed timescales
12-Month Targets
- Help establish and maintain a clear ESG roadmap for RDM
- Deliver meaningful ESG Power BI dashboards and KPI reporting
- Improve ESG data quality, ownership, and governance
- Support successful EcoVadis and customer ESG assessments
- Implement structured ESG reporting processes across all business functions
- Contribute to measurable sustainability improvements across RDM’s global operation

Remuneration & Benefits
- Basis salary of £38–£40K per annum (based on experience)
- Optional healthcare benefit (available after 6 months)
- Death in service cover and additional benefits
- Discretionary annual profit-related bonus (up to 10%)
