About the Company & the Role
Clenergy is seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead the market growth of our RESIDENTIAL Energy Storage System (ESS) division in the UK. This role will focus on developing strong installer partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, building Clenergy’s ESS credibility, and driving adoption of our hybrid inverter and battery products across residential and light commercial segments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the UK solar + storage landscape, technical aptitude in ESS solutions, and a proven track record in solution-based sales or partner development.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Identify, target, and onboard high-potential solar installers, distributors, and EPCs.
- Execute go-to-market strategies and achieve regional sales targets for ESS products.
- Deliver compelling product pitches and proposals to drive conversions.
- Structure and manage installer partner programs, including incentives, lead distribution, and performance tracking.

Market Engagement & Brand Building
- Act as the face of Clenergy ESS in the field – attending trade shows, installer events, and technical roadshows.
- Gather and relay market feedback to internal teams (product, R&D, support) to improve offering and experience.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to tailor campaigns, webinars, and educational content.
Customer & Partner Support
- Work closely with tech support and operations to ensure partners receive excellent pre- and post-sales service.
- Assist partners during early installs and site assessments to build confidence in our products.
- Proactively manage the pipeline, close deals, and support customers through onboarding.
Strategic Input & Reporting
- Provide regular updates on sales performance, pipeline development, competitor activity, and market trends.
- Collaborate with leadership on sales forecasts, pricing feedback, and channel strategy.

Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years’ experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally in solar, battery storage, or electrical products.
- Strong understanding of RESIDENTIAL ESS solutions and common inverter/battery competitors.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to installers and end users.
- Experience working with CRMs and pipeline management tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and travel as required.
- Electrical or renewable energy background (qualification or field experience).
- Experience launching new products or building brands in emerging markets.
- Network within the UK solar installer ecosystem.
- Knowledge of rebate schemes, VPPs, and state-specific ESS trends.
