About the Role

As a Senior Lettings Negotiator, you’ll:

  • Find, engage, and retain landlords and tenants
  • Negotiate offers and agree new tenancies
  • Ensure properties meet regulatory standards (health and safety, compliance)
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients
  • Drive sales and retention through marketing, canvassing, and local outreach

A Day in the Life

  • Customer Relations:

    • Liaise with prospective tenants, arranging viewings based on their needs
    • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with landlords and tenants
  • Business Development:

    • Generate new and repeat business through proactive marketing and community engagement
    • Conduct canvassing, door-knocking, and leaflet-dropping in local areas
  • Administrative & Compliance:

    • Ensure properties meet health and safety standards
    • Maintain accurate records of offers, viewings, and tenancy agreements

Core Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and finalise letters of intent, tenancy agreements, and inlet letters
  • Market properties using creative techniques (photography, online listings, word-of-mouth)
  • Manage tough negotiations between landlords’ objectives and tenants’ needs
  • Consistently exceed standards in client service to drive retention and referrals

Key Skills & Requirements

Must Have:

  • Full UK driving licence (manual vehicle preference)
  • Excellent communication skills (client-facing, telephone, confidence in negotiation)
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to prioritise workload and meet targets
  • Strong customer service ethos (client-centric, adaptable)
  • Basic IT literacy (Microsoft Office proficiency)
  • Attention to detail (contracts, compliance, paperwork)

Bonus (Strongly Preferred):

  • Familiarity with Residential Lettings Laws (Tenancy Acts, DPS/LETAS, safety certificates)
