Senior Surveyor – Estates

Company Profile

Our client is a long-established commercial investment group with over £350m of commercial and residential property on 150 sites nationwide housing over 1000 occupier clients, and our priority is both the letting of our vacant space and retention of existing occupiers. Job Description Summary

We are looking to recruit a Senior Surveyor to join our busy estates team. This is a full-time position, which requires an experienced and forward-thinking individual to join us to deliver an efficient and proactive estate management service.

In the Senior Surveyor role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high quality day-to-day property management and income enhancement of a mixed-use portfolio of assets across the UK.
  • Building and maintaining goodwill, confidentiality, and trust with occupier clients and customers at all times.
  • Liaising with the accounting team on production of annual service charge budgets, approving reconciliations, rent raising reports, etc.
  • Liaising with building managers and contractors with respect to ongoing maintenance and repair programmes.
  • Identifying and driving through cost-saving opportunities, working with clients and other 3rd parties as appropriate.
  • All management functions, including rent collections, service charge management, and all aspects of management and landlord-tenant relationship.
  • Carrying out regular property inspections and managing a small number of building managers.
  • Performing other tasks delegated by the Estate Directors in charge as required.
  • Dealing directly with tenants and occupiers, building strong relationships and resolving day-to-day estate management issues.
  • Undertaking professional work including rent reviews, lease renewals, and lease re-gears.
  • Managing facilities management (FM) issues, appointing and managing contractors, ensuring works are completed to the required standard, on time, and within budget.

  • Degree educated.
  • MRICS with at least 1 year post-qualified experience.
  • Applicants must be up for a challenge, looking to work in a busy, fast-paced environment where no day is the same!
  • Good commercial property management experience is essential.
  • Awareness of basic property accounting.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic towards delivering a first-class service.
