Job Description

Job Title: Estates Caretaker

Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time

Sector: Property Services

Location: High Wycombe

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Salary: £17,650.00 per annum

We have an opportunity for an Estates Caretaker to work across residential social housing estates in High Wycombe, delivering a proactive and responsive cleaning and caretaking service.


Responsibilities

  • Cleaning communal areas across residential properties to a high standard.
  • Vacuuming, wiping surfaces, removing rubbish, cleaning toilets, and restocking supplies.
  • Cleaning and sanitising bin rooms, ensuring bins remain accessible, and assisting refuse collection services when required.
  • Removing litter, leaves, dog fouling, and other waste from external areas.
  • Clearing gutters and gullies to prevent blockages and maintain site safety.
  • Sweeping hard surfaces and supporting snow clearance and gritting activities during winter months.
  • Cleaning lift interiors and keeping control panels and door runners free from dirt and debris.
  • Identifying and reporting requirements for deep cleans or specialist cleaning services.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
  • Reporting tenancy-related issues, estate concerns, or property defects as appropriate.
  • Recording completed work accurately using the required technology and systems.
  • Ordering, handling, and storing cleaning products and equipment safely.
  • Maintaining cleanliness within bin stores and reporting any waste collection issues.
  • Responding to emergency situations when required.
  • Driving service vehicles safely and ensuring they are kept clean, roadworthy, and well maintained.
  • Providing basic advice and assistance to residents while on site.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required by the role.

Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence (Manual)
  • Basic DBS Check
