Estates Compliance, Risk & Safety Officer

Location: DVLA – Swansea, SA6 7JL Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week


About the Role

At Mitie, we believe in creating better places and thriving communities. Our Estates Compliance, Risk & Safety Officer plays a critical role in supporting the effective delivery, monitoring, and assurance of statutory compliance, risk management, and safety performance across our estate.

This role involves providing experienced oversight of compliance activities, ensuring smooth inspections, certifications, and remedial actions are tracked, validated, and reported. You’ll identify compliance risks, challenge underperformance, and support audit readiness—ensuring everything aligns with regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor statutory compliance activities across the estate to ensure alignment with regulations and contracts
  • Prepare, coordinate, and maintain compliance evidence packs for internal audits, client reviews, and statutory assessments
  • Provide compliance guidance and support to teams, including supervisors, coordinators, and administrative staff
  • Develop and circulate summaries, trackers, and briefing notes for senior managers and client forums
  • Support and participate in assurance inspections and compliance reviews

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have:

  • A strong compliance background in Facilities Management (FM) or a related environment
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, compliance frameworks, and regulatory systems
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with an attention to detail
  • Leadership capability, including the ability to influence operational teams while negotiating with stakeholders
  • Proven experience supervising contractors and service partners
