The Estates Department plays a vital role in maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of engineering systems and building infrastructure across all sites owned by West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
As an Estates Technician (Electrical), you will be a key member of a dedicated team, applying your specialist electrical expertise to ensure critical plant, equipment, and systems are maintained to the highest standards.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to the delivery of healthcare services by helping to create a safe and resilient environment for patients, visitors, and staff while developing your skills within a dynamic and supportive organisation.
Responsibilities
- To provide technical assistance for mechanical / electrical staff and contractors ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
- To undertake complex fault diagnosis on mechanical and electrical services and fault rectification, maintenance and M&E installation work for the Trust.
- To undertake special departmental projects as identified by the Estates Manager, Estates Officers and or Team Leaders.
- Be fully conversant on the Estates decontamination equipment for washer disinfectors and sterilisers. To undertake all aspects of testing, insurance inspections and monitoring of decontamination equipment, pressure vessels and lifting equipment.
- To undertake the duties of an Authorised Person (AP) or Competent Person (CP) for specific engineering disciplines as required to do so by Estates Managers.
