Estates Officer (Operations Supervisor) (Stamford & PCH)

Estates Supervisor

The Estates Supervisor is a key member of the Estates and Facilities team, responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of estates maintenance services supporting Stamford Hospital and Peterborough City Hospital retained buildings.

The post holder will provide operational leadership for maintenance activities, ensuring that planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, statutory compliance inspections, and minor works are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to clinical services.

Working closely with the Estates Manager, clinical teams, and external contractors, the Estates Supervisor will ensure that the ward and outpatient environments remain safe, compliant, functional, and fit for purpose for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff and contractors.
  • Monitor service performance.
  • Prioritize workloads.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Trust policies, statutory regulations, and health and safety requirements.

This role will cover all 3 sites.

Provides specialist technical advice and guidance to the Trust in respect of Estates maintenance, engineering services, statutory compliance, and health and safety matters, ensuring that the management and supervision of the estate withstands scrutiny from internal and external auditors in relation to compliance, value for money, service standards, NHS guidance, and all relevant statutory requirements.

Supports the Estates Manager in identifying, managing, and addressing any areas of non-compliance across the estate, ensuring that appropriate corrective actions are implemented and monitored. Ensures that critical plant, equipment, and engineering systems are maintained and available to support the delivery of clinical and operational services, contributing to the development and implementation of contingency arrangements to minimize disruption in the event of system or equipment failure.

Maintains oversight of the Building Management System (BMS), ensuring system information remains accurate and up to date through amendments, additions, and deletions as required, whilst monitoring system performance and responding to operational issues and alarms as appropriate.
