Estates Operative / Technician
Aberdeen - covering Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire
£26,503 - £27,898 per year
40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm
We are looking for an Estate Operative known within the company as an Estate Technician to join our Estate Services team in Aberdeen. The role is responsible for basic ground maintenance including grass cutting, hedge pruning, pesticide spraying. The role will also assist with communal cleaning, compliance testing and ad-hoc duties at different sites, which will include inspections, removal of bulk items, litter picking, and removal of graffiti.
Working as part of a team and lone working when required you will cover several sites across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. The ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate that they are able to adapt to the demands, challenges and changes of the role whilst showing confidence to work within a customer-based environment. Appropriate and additional training will be given to the successful candidate to ensure they are competent to carry out their role.
The role of Estates Operative / Technician will include:
- Undertaking grounds maintenance duties
- Assisting with general cleaning and clearing of communal areas within properties
- Completing daily work records and maintaining stock levels
- Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
- Ensuring tools and equipment are kept in a useable condition
- Working with customers to resolve issues and improve services
- Providing accurate information and updates on the progress of allocated work

Skills and experiences:
- British Institute certificate in cleaning services (BICS), NVQ 2 in Horticulture or similar or willing to work towards
- Pesticide Application Certificate PA1 – PA6 or willing to work towards
- Working knowledge and experience of, caretaking, general cleaning, and reporting of repairs
- Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
- A working knowledge of health and safety regulations
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid manual UK driving licence.

£26,503 per annum (rising to £27,898 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
