Team: Estates and Construction
Location: Remote with regular travel in the South-East
Work pattern: 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri
Salary: Up to £53,736.33 per year
Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities of our Surveyor:
- Manage a designated property portfolio, delivering repairs, planned maintenance, and minor redevelopment projects
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to identify and deliver effective estate solutions
- Work closely with Estates Support, Construction, Safety, Health & Environment, and Legal teams, as well as external consultants and contractors, to maintain a safe, compliant, and effective estate
- Assess property issues and implement appropriate solutions
- Lead property transactions and estate projects, including retail and commercial lease acquisitions and disposals
- Negotiate with agents, landlords, neighbouring occupiers, solicitors, and local or statutory authorities
- Procure and manage contractors, ensuring appropriate vetting and compliance
- Oversee property works in partnership with retail and operational managers
- Maintain accurate records across estate, facilities management, and cloud-based systems
- Prepare regional and property-specific reports

About the Estates and Construction team:
Estates and Construction manages a diverse property portfolio that includes cat adoption and homing centres, charity shops, multi-pen sites, and residential properties. As we expand our vibrant team, we are seeking an additional Surveyor to help deliver high-quality property support across the estate. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact on the welfare of cats, volunteers, and colleagues.
What we’re looking for in our Surveyor:
- Flexible regional portfolio covering the South East of England and a small number of outer London properties. Applicants should live within a reasonable travelling distance of the region
- Level 6 or higher professional surveying qualification and current membership of a professional institution
- Post qualification experience of surveying in a property or facilities management environment
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Working Knowledge of retail/commercial leases, acquisitions and disposals
- Multi-site and use property management and compliance experience
- Experience of working on and managing small building or maintenance projects up to £500k
- Ability to work within a small team and externally with professionals and third parties
