Are you an experienced Estimating Manager or a Senior Estimator ready to take the next step in your career?

Our client is a well-established and growing construction contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality new-build and refurbishment projects across the public sector. With a strong pipeline of secured work and ambitious growth plans, they are looking to appoint an Estimating Manager to lead their estimating function and play a key role in the continued success of the business.

The Role

As Estimating Manager, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of six Estimators
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of competitive tenders for projects ranging from £100,000 to £10 million
  • Work closely with senior leadership to secure new business opportunities, enhance estimating processes, and drive departmental performance

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of six Estimators
  • Manage and review tenders, estimates, and cost plans
  • Ensure all submissions are accurate, commercially robust and competitive
  • Prepare and oversee pricing for new-build and refurbishment projects
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
  • Identify and implement improvements to estimating processes and efficiencies
  • Support tender strategy, bid reviews, and business growth initiatives
  • Provide commercial insight and reporting to senior management

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator within the construction sector
  • Strong knowledge of both new-build and refurbishment projects
  • Previous experience of public sector tendering
  • Excellent commercial awareness and cost planning expertise
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing estimating teams
  • Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
