Estimations | Manufacturing | AutoCAD | Customer Quotations
Grays, Essex
£33,000 - £38,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
This role could suit someone from estimating, sales administration, internal sales, CAD, fabrication, sheet metal or a hands-on engineering background who is used to producing quotations and dealing with customers.
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business that designs and manufactures bespoke steel products for customers across the UK.
You'll become the link between customers and production. You'll speak with customers about their requirements, prepare quotations and produce simple AutoCAD drawings using an existing library of designs. You don't need to be an AutoCAD expert. If you've had some previous exposure to CAD and are happy learning, full training will be provided.
The Role
- Preparing customer quotations for bespoke manufactured products.
- Speaking with customers to understand their requirements.
- Creating and amending simple AutoCAD drawings using an existing drawing library.
- Liaising with production to ensure customer requirements can be achieved.
- Providing technical advice throughout the quotation process.
- Processing customer enquiries from initial enquiry through to order.
- Ensuring accurate information is passed to the production team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
