Marine Estimator
We are currently seeking an experienced Marine Estimator to support major shipbuilding, vessel repair, and defence programmes within a growing maritime engineering environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile marine projects, supporting the preparation of detailed estimates and tender submissions across:
- Shipbuilding
- Ship repair
- Marine refit initiatives
The role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel to Belfast as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for shipbuilding, ship repair, and marine engineering projects
- Develop labour, material, and subcontractor cost build-ups
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Produce Bills of Quantities and pricing schedules
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotes
- Support tender submissions and bid documentation
- Identify project risks and opportunities
- Participate in bid reviews and tender adjudications
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project delivery teams
- Support commercial negotiations and tender clarifications
- Ensure estimates are delivered accurately and punctually

Essential Experience
- Previous experience as an Estimator, Senior Estimator, or Cost Estimator
- Direct experience within shipbuilding, ship repair, or vessel refit projects
- Proficiency in producing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications
- Expertise in pricing labour, materials, and subcontract packages
- Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Experience
- Experience in Naval or defence programmes
- Track record with dockyard or dry dock projects
- Hands-on experience with offshore marine projects
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or IFS
- Previous work with major shipyards, marine engineering contractors or defence organisations
