A well-established National main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the public and private sectors is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its growing Pre-Construction team

With a strong pipeline of work secured through longstanding client relationships, frameworks and negotiated opportunities, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that places quality, collaboration and repeat business at the heart of its operations

The Role

You will play a key role in the successful delivery of tenders across a diverse portfolio of projects, with a particular focus on Design & Build procurement and two-stage tendering

Working closely with operational, commercial and design teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates, developing cost plans during pre-construction, and helping secure projects from initial enquiry through to contract award

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for construction projects
  • Manage and develop two-stage tender opportunities from initial budget through to final contract sum
  • Analyse drawings and specifications
  • Obtain, review and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Work alongside design teams to develop cost-effective and buildable solutions
  • Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering options
  • Attend client meetings, site visits and tender interviews as required
  • Support the handover of successful projects to delivery teams

About You

  • Previous experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of Design & Build procurement routes
  • Proven experience managing two-stage tender processes
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods and sequencing
  • Ability to interpret technical information, drawings and specifications
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
