Engineering Estimator | CNC Machining | Precision Engineering

£45,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Are you an engineer with experience of CNC machining, precision engineering or manufacturing looking to move into a commercial role? Or are you already working as an Engineering Estimator looking for your next challenge?

Our client is a well-established, highly respected precision engineering manufacturer supplying complex machined components to customers across a range of demanding industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Engineering Estimator to join their Machine Shop team.

The Role

Working closely with Purchasing, Production Control and Sales, you'll be responsible for producing accurate quotations for subcontract machining work and supporting customers throughout the quotation process.

  • Preparing quotations from engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications
  • Reviewing manufacturing methods and machining routes
  • Calculating manufacturing costs and margins
  • Working closely with Purchasing and Production to obtain accurate costing information
  • Assessing Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
  • Supporting order processing through the ERP system
  • Liaising with customers regarding technical queries, lead times and delivery dates
  • Supporting the successful conversion of quotations into customer orders

We're looking for people with experience in areas such as:

  • CNC Machining
  • Precision Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Production Engineering
  • Machine Shop Engineering
  • Cost Estimating
  • Quotations
  • Engineering Sales Support
  • Engineering Business Development

You'll ideally have:

  • A mechanical or manufacturing engineering background
  • Experience reading engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of CNC machining processes
  • Commercial awareness
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • ERP/MRP system experience would be advantageous
