What You’ll Do
This role will work within the Estimating team for Caddick Construction in the Midlands. The ideal candidate would be someone with some experience as an Estimator within a Construction firm, who is interested in joining a forward thinking, growing but stable business with an excellent reputation in the market. Caddick support individuals who are driven to innovate and raise the bar, this role is ideal for someone who wants to lead and develop the estimating function.
Estimator
- Review tender documentation, assess risks and opportunities, and contribute to bid strategies.
- Complete accurate take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and conduct cost comparisons.
- Work closely with the construction and commercial teams to ensure alignment on project delivery and methodology.
- Produce tender handover packs for successful bids and support the project team through preconstruction.
- Use software such as Conquest, Bluebeam/CostX, and Excel to manage estimating tasks and reporting.

What We’re Looking For
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in estimating within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with cost planning and two-stage tenders.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and commercial principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software such as Conquest and Bluebeam/CostX.
- Knowledge of current construction contracts and procurement processes.
Personal Attributes
- Highly numerate and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Required Skills
- The ability to read and interpret project information (including drawings and specifications), proficient in estimating packages / software or willing to undertake the necessary training, technical skills, excellent communication and organisational skills, a team player.
