Estimator | Leading Main Contractor | Central London

💰 £80,000 – £90,000 + Bonus
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across London and the South East.
With a robust pipeline of secured works and exciting upcoming tenders, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to strengthen their pre-construction team in Central London.
About the Business & Projects
This contractor delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including:
- Commercial developments
- Residential schemes
- Education and public sector projects
- Refurbishment and new build schemes
Projects typically range from multi-million-pound developments through to complex refurbishment works, offering plenty of variety and technical challenge within the role.

You’ll be joining a business known for its quality delivery, repeat client base, and collaborative culture, with strong relationships across the supply chain.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in securing future work and shaping project success from the outset.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements
- Managing the full tender process from enquiry through to submission
- Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive and accurate pricing
- Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial advantages
- Collaborating closely with pre-construction, design, and commercial teams
You will have real visibility within the business and the opportunity to influence key tender decisions.

Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Experience across new build and/or refurbishment projects
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
