Estimator – Water & Infrastructure | Bristol | Contract | £DOE
Outside IR35
We're recruiting an Estimator on behalf of a growing infrastructure contractor based in the Bristol area, with an expanding pipeline of water, utilities and civil engineering projects.
Reporting into the Lead Estimator and sitting within the Pre-Construction team, you'll be responsible for producing accurate, detailed cost estimates from first principles across a range of tenders — from initial enquiry through to final submission.

- Preparing detailed first-principles estimates within defined timescales
- Full tender management from enquiry through to submission
- Producing material and labour take-offs for pricing
- Organising and resolving queries on subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Producing fully detailed quotations in line with tender documentation
- Flagging commercial risk areas to senior management — LDs, bonds, parent company guarantees, payment terms
- Attending site visits to verify asset data where required
- Supporting handover to the delivery team on successful bids
- Contributing to Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) solutions and reports

What we're looking for:
- Proven estimating experience in water, utilities or civil infrastructure
- First-principles estimating capability
- Familiarity with NEC contract environments
- Ability to manage multiple tenders to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
