Job Opportunity: Estimator
Coventry
08:30am – 17:00pm, 40 hours
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Due to growth, MNB Precision are recruiting an Estimator to join our team. This is a key position responsible for producing accurate, competitive and profitable quotations for mission critical machined components and assemblies.
The successful candidate for the Estimator role will combine strong technical knowledge of precision engineering with commercial awareness, ensuring quotations reflect both manufacturing capability and value to the customer. You will work closely with customers as well as internal departments to develop pricing strategies that support sustainable growth while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities For The Estimator Role
- Review customer enquiries, technical drawings, specifications and supporting documentation to prepare accurate quotations
- Develop pricing using a value-based pricing approach, balancing manufacturing costs, customer value, market conditions and strategic business objectives.
- Assess manufacturing methods, machining times, material requirements, tooling and inspection requirements.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications to ensure accurate costing.
- Liaise with production and quality teams to validate cost optimisation.
- Engage directly with customers to clarify technical requirements and discuss quotation detail and build long term relationships.
- Maintain quotation records and ensure data integrity within the ERP system.
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes, pricing models and quotation turnaround times.

Skills & Experience Required For The Estimator Role
- Proven experience in estimating within a precision machining or manufacturing environment, ideally Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Defence, Medical, Motorsport or other precision manufacturing sectors.
- Strong technical understanding of CNC machining processes, materials, manufacturing methods and production costs.
- A strong machining background with practical knowledge of precision engineering.
- Excellent ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T and technical specifications.
- Demonstrable experience applying value-based pricing principles.
- Commercially minded with an understanding of profitability, margins, customer value and business strategy.
- Experience using ERP systems, ideally Factory Master or similar manufacturing ERP software.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers.
- Collaborative team player who works effectively across departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard business software.
