Experienced Estimator or Assistant Estimator Opportunity
Are you an experienced Estimator or an Assistant Estimator looking for their next step up & interested in joining one of the UK's leading tier 1 main contractors? This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience with a tier 1 business and gain exposure across multiple sectors on large projects.
We're recruiting on behalf of a main contractor within their fit out division, with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out, refurbishment and workplace transformation projects across both the public and private sectors.
Opportunity Overview
This is an opportunity to become part of a collaborative pre-construction team working on a varied portfolio of projects, from occupied refurbishments and CAT A/CAT B office fit-outs to education, healthcare, retail, hospitality and public sector environments, with project values typically ranging from £500k to £100m.

Estimator Role & Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications and employer's requirements.
- Reviewing tender documents to identify scope, risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Producing competitive pricing for design & build, refurbishment and interior fit-out projects.
- Obtaining and analysing quotations from subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Building strong relationships with trusted subcontractors and suppliers to ensure robust pricing.
- Working closely with design teams during the pre-construction phase to develop cost-effective solutions.
- Supporting bid submissions, tender interviews and client presentations where required.
- Preparing cost plans, benchmarking information and pricing reports.
- Participating in post-tender negotiations and seamless project handovers to delivery teams.
- Keeping abreast of market conditions, material pricing and labour trends.

Estimator Requirements
- Construction related degree / qualifications
- 4+ years estimating experience
- Worked for a main contractor within construction or fit out for either a tier 1 or tier 2 business
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
