- Social Infrastructure: Revitalise homes and communities through retrofit, refurbishment, and maintenance.
About the Role
Our Social Infrastructure team is seeking an experienced and meticulous Estimator to join our team in Swanley, United Kingdom.
As an integral member of our organisation, you will:
- Drive accurate cost assessments and competitive bid preparation for Social Housing sector projects.
- Prioritise candidates with industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Assessment & Tender Support
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure tender submissions are priced competitively, commercially robust, and technically precise.

Client & Professional Relations
- Foster long-term relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to drive future tender success and new opportunities.

Tender Compliance & Delivery Transition
- Develop and present detailed cost break-downs while adhering to strict tender deadlines.
- Facilitate seamless handover between bid stage and project delivery, ensuring clarity with project teams.

Market Intelligence & Risk Management
- Monitor market trends, material prices, and labour rates to maintain real-time pricing accuracy.
- Identify project risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate threats and maximise value.

Improvement & Process Excellence
- Contribute to enhancing estimating processes and best practices to boost efficiency and precision.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in the construction sector, with a preference for Social Housing industry exposure.
- Knowledge of JCT (Joint Contract Tribunal) & ACA (produced by the Chartered Association of Building Engineers) contracts.
- Ability to take-off quantities from drawings, interpret project specifications, and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software or the ability to quickly adapt to new tools.
- Clear and persuasive communication and negotiation skills—able to articulate complex information concisely.
- High adaptability to pressured environments with strict deadlines.
- Excellence in organisation & time management to balance multiple project cross deliverables.

Executive Qualifications
- Desirable: Formal qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
