Estimator – Building & Construction (Perth, Scotland)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join ourfast-paced team in the building and construction industry based in Perth, Scotland. This permanent, full-time position offers the perfect opportunity for a mid-senior level professional to contribute to the success of our projects while playing a vital role in ensuring accurate cost assessments. Join us in delivering high-quality projects while fostering client satisfaction in a supportive and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and other relevant documentation
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for precise cost evaluations
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure all project considerations are included in estimates
- Analyse labour, material, and overhead costs to develop competitive and comprehensive bids
- Maintain and update a cost database for future reference, including materials and services pricing
- Review and assess subcontractor bids and proposals to verify compliance with project specifications
- Generate and present detailed reports and documentation for management review
- Support the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients and subcontractors

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum of five years of experience in construction estimating
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration
- Keen attention to detail, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
