Senior Estimator / Estimator – Complex Projects, Delivery Partner Team

In the Estimating & Cost Advisory practice, our vision is to be the industry’s foremost capability, always doing what’s right. This role offers a diverse and dynamic workload, surrounded by talented colleagues ready to support your growth. You’ll provide high-impact estimating services across multi-disciplinary project teams and key clients, while helping develop internal expertise.
Your Responsibilities
- Support estimating service delivery, from feasibility through detailed design stages
- Understand and apply Class 5 (order of magnitude) to Class 1 (first principles) estimation methodologies
- Work across multiple sectors in infrastructure:
- Water, Defence, Aviation
- Rail, Highways, Local Authorities
- Nuclear, Renewable Energy, Power
- Assist in win work activities, including bids, proposals, and portfolio expansion
- Contribute to continuous improvement of deliverables ensuring high client satisfaction
- Develop and support a high-performing team, enhancing our regional leadership framework
- Independent delivery of full take-offs, while mentoring junior colleagues
- Produce client-facing outputs, from cost forecasting to assurance reviews by internal and external estimators
- Facilitate peer review processes for quality assurance and collaborative growth
- Assist estimating leads in drafting basis-of-estimate reports for director reviews and client submissions
- Proficiency in estimating software and office applications, alongside data-driven benchmarking

Expectations & Criteria
About You
- You must have either:
- A bachelor’s degree in:
- Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction
- or equivalent work experience
- A bachelor’s degree in:
- Professional accreditation status (or demonstrable progress towards):
- RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE, or equivalent chartership
- Understanding of contingency/risk allowances and applied pricing strategies
- Knowledge of indirect costs, cost breakdown structures, and project deliverability analysis
- Commercial/contractual awareness – ability to crossover cost forecasting into contractual obligations
- Stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate with designers, engineers, project managers, and clients
- Adaptability across multiple sectors/disciplines, with a commitment to continuous learning
- Desirable (though not always mandatory): Ability to obtain security clearance
