About the Role
A growing manufacturer of electrical control and instrumentation systems for various industries and applications has asked us to find an Estimating Tendering Proposals Engineer with an electrical qualification or who can help their Sales Manager to turn the enquiries they receive into project orders.
Key Responsibilities
Working through a set of incoming enquiries, you'll look through the specifications and enquiry documents, be able to read electrical drawings, pick out the electrical control aspects of the project, and then reply to the enquiry with a carefully thought out set of costings, quotations, technical and commercial proposals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- The Engineering team and Design Engineers will support you by providing technical support for you to be able to reply with exactly the right answer to the enquiry.
- You will gradually learn about the company's technology and projects, but it would be essential to have an electrical engineering background, be able to read electrical drawings, and good communication skills in order to compile quotes and liaise with the customer.
- The final 5%? If you had some knowledge of PLC control, or of electrical control, sensors, instrumentation, that would be a big bonus.
