Estimator | Civil Engineering & Renewables | Hybrid Working
Not every estimating role is just about producing numbers.
Some give you the opportunity to influence the direction of a business, work on projects that genuinely interest you, and enjoy the flexibility to do your best work without being tied to an office.
This is one of those opportunities.
An established and growing Scottish civil engineering and renewables contractor is continuing to secure new work across infrastructure, renewable energy and public sector frameworks. As a result of this sustained growth, they're looking to appoint an Estimator who wants to do more than simply price tenders.
Working closely with the business owner and senior operational team, you'll play a key role in identifying opportunities, shaping bids and helping win projects that will drive the business forward. Your opinion will be valued, and you'll have genuine visibility of the wider commercial strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
