JHP Electrical Services & Sports Lighting Specialists is an award-winning commercial electrical and lighting contractor operating throughout the UK. The company delivers projects for a wide range of clients, including sports clubs, premier stadiums, golf ranges, leisure centres, and public and private schools, as well as healthcare, retail, property, and construction sectors. As a family-run business, JHP is known for specialist technical knowledge, expert workmanship, and exceptional customer service.
The team consists of NICEIC-certified and DBS-checked electricians, supported by accreditations such as Construction Line, TrustMark, and SafeContractor. JHP is also a member of SAPCA and maintains a strong commitment to safety, quality, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Role Description
The Estimator/Project Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Watford, with some flexibility to work from home. This role is responsible for:

- Preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial electrical and sports lighting projects.
- Reviewing drawings and specifications.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Managing projects from inception to completion, including planning resources, monitoring budgets, overseeing timelines, and coordinating with site teams to ensure safe and compliant delivery.
- Communicating with clients and stakeholders.
- Producing project documentation.
- Tracking variations.
- Updating forecasts to maintain profitability and quality standards.
- Supporting bid submissions.
- Contributing to process improvements.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in Construction Estimating and Project Estimation for commercial electrical and lighting projects.
- Skills in Cost Management and Budgeting to control project finances and support accurate forecasting.
- Excellent Communication skills to collaborate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Relevant experience in electrical contracting, sports lighting, or commercial construction project management is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency with estimating and project management software, and solid MS Office skills (especially Excel).
- Formal qualifications in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related discipline are advantageous.
- Understanding of UK construction regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices is preferred.
