Role profile
After a period of sustained investment in our technology platforms and ways of working, we are creating a new End User Computing Manager role within our IT function, this a permanent position based in our Bristol office with hybrid working.
This hands-on engineering role will be instrumental in shaping and delivering our end-user computing and digital employee experience (DEX) strategy – ensuring our people have a secure, modern and frictionless technology experience across devices, software, collaboration tools and Office 365 services.
The role
The End User Computing Manager will sit within our IT Engineering & Operations team and lead the engineering and day-to-day operation of our end-user computing and DEX platforms. You will be the principal technical authority for EUC and DEX, owning the roadmap, setting standards, and working closely with colleagues across IT, Business Services and our wider business to continually improve reliability, performance and user satisfaction.
In the near term, a key focus will be stabilising end-user computing services – reducing incidents, resolving underlying issues and improving service quality for our teams.
Other Key Responsibilities Include
EUC Engineering, Roadmap & Digital Employee Experience
- Own the overall build, engineering and roadmap for end-user computing and digital employee experience, aligned to IT and firm-wide priorities.
- Define and maintain EUC standards, patterns and reference architectures that support a modern, secure and high-performing endpoint and collaboration environment.
- Establish, track and report on key DEX metrics (e.g. device performance, reliability, incident trends, user satisfaction), and use data to prioritise and evidence improvements.
- Evaluate and introduce new EUC, collaboration, SaaS and automation capabilities (including AI-enabled solutions) where they clearly improve user experience and productivity.
- Work closely with change and transformation colleagues to ensure EUC and DEX changes are well-designed, robust, user-centred and deliver measurable benefits.
Endpoint & Device Management
- Design, engineer and operate modern endpoint management solutions for all end-user devices, including laptops, printers, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and mobile devices, using tools such as Intune, SCCM and Apple Business Manager.
- Champion automation-first approaches for device provisioning, configuration, compliance and patching (e.g. zero-touch deployment, policy-based management, scripting) to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Implement and maintain strong endpoint security controls and configurations to protect against threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant standards.
- Proactively monitor endpoint health and performance, using telemetry and analytics to identify trends, prevent issues and drive continuous optimisation.
Software Deployment & Application Lifecycle
- Lead the design and operation of software packaging, testing and deployment processes for applications and updates.
- Partner with application owners and other IT teams to agree deployment strategies, assess compatibility and manage user impact, ensuring smooth rollouts and a positive user experience.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of software licences and ensure compliance with licence terms.
- Continuously improve software deployment approaches through greater automation, self-service and standardisation where appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

User Experience & Productivity
- Monitor and enhance the end-user computing experience by tackling performance issues, recurring incidents and usability problems across the EUC estate.
- Use user feedback, DEX analytics and incident data to identify opportunities to improve productivity (e.g. faster logon times, simpler access to applications, better remote working experiences).
- Develop and deliver clear, engaging training, guidance and documentation to help users get the most from devices, collaboration tools and Office 365 services.
- Run regular user satisfaction assessments and create action plans to address pain points, working with other ITS teams to deliver end-to-end improvements.
Office 365 & Collaboration Services
- Support the effective operation of Office 365 services – including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Teams – in partnership with platform and application teams.
- Ensure Office 365 applications integrate seamlessly with other enterprise systems from an end-user perspective.
- Keep abreast of Office 365 developments and roll out relevant features and enhancements that improve collaboration and ways of working.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Provide clear, supportive line management for the EUC team, setting objectives aligned to ITS and firm priorities and managing performance, development and wellbeing.
- Plan and manage EUC team workload and resourcing to balance BAU operations, change and project activity, including rota management and acting as an escalation point for complex issues.
- Set and promote high standards of engineering practice within the team, including automation-first delivery, robust documentation, quality assurance and consistent ways of working.
- Coach and develop team members, supporting training and certification and building depth of capability across EUC technologies and practices.
- Act as a visible leader across ITS, contributing to cross-team initiatives, supporting our technology transformation and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, understanding their needs and clearly explaining the benefits, risks and business impact of EUC decisions to support informed investment and standardisation.
We are looking for
- Significant experience managing end-user computing environments in a sizeable or complex organisation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the EUC stack.
- Strong experience owning and delivering an End User Computing and Digital Employee Experience roadmap, using data and feedback to prioritise and sequence improvements.
- A clear focus on user-centred design and DEX, with experience using user feedback, analytics and metrics to drive continuous improvement in endpoint and collaboration services.
- Proven team leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building, coaching and leading high-performing technical teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence senior leaders.
- Deep knowledge of modern endpoint management tools and technologies (e.g. Intune, SCCM, Apple Business Manager) and their use in automating device lifecycle management.
- Good understanding of centralised remote working solutions such as Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) and/or Remote Desktop Services.
- Proficiency in software packaging and deployment, including the use of automation and scripting tools (such as PowerShell, Packer or Ansible) to streamline and standardise deployment.
- Experience integrating and supporting SaaS applications within an EUC environment.
- Strong understanding of Office 365 services from an endpoint and user-experience perspective, and experience collaborating with platform/application owners on administration and governance.
- Ability to demonstrate the impact and return on investment of EUC technologies in terms of productivity, user satisfaction and risk reduction.
- Relevant industry certifications (for example, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, ITIL) or equivalent experience.
