European New Plant/Product (NPP) Licensing Director
Summary
The European NPP Licensing Director will shape Regulatory Affairs strategy to accelerate licensing transitions in Europe and beyond North America, focusing on high-impact projects—including the BWRX-300, GE’s next-gen small modular reactor. This visionary leader will oversee licensing efforts across GE Vernova’s (GEH) and GE Nuclear (GNF) businesses, building high-performing teams to bring novel products and projects to market.
The role involves:
- Leading cross-functional strategy alignment with North American NPP Licensing Director
- Managing regulator relationships and regulatory submissions
- Occasional travel as needed
Reports to the General Manager of Nuclear Programs within Regulatory Affairs.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities (New Plants & New Products)
- Lead strategic regulatory development and deployment for European customers, maintaining commercial relationships.
- Serve as the primary contact for international nuclear regulators and working groups.
- Deliver expert guidance on international atomic energy regulatory frameworks.
- Direct licensing engineers, project managers, and licensing teams with operational direction.
- Monitor evolving regulations and ensure GEH and GNF compliance with policy updates.
- Maintain accurate nuclear licensing documentation and regulatory correspondence records.
- Oversee periodic inspections/audits and resolve licensing/compliance disputes.
- Coordinate Regulatory Affairs’ cross-organizational business span, including IAEA and WNA liaisons.
- Manage the licensing budget.
- Adhere to GEH Quality Program requirements to drive internal compliance.

Qualifications Required
Education & Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in nuclear licensing, design, and operations.
- A track record of leadership in scaling/managing high-impact regulatory functions.
Key Attributes
- Capable of occasional international travel to support regulatory efforts.
Clearance Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain site security clearance (background checks + SGI/safeguards clearance).
