About the role
We are looking for an experienced, practical Field Service Engineer to support critical-power projects across Europe. You will install, commission, service, diagnose, repair and decommission equipment that customers depend on to keep their operations running.
This is a genuinely hands-on role with significant autonomy. Alongside field assignments, you will support equipment preparation, testing and technical improvements at a Netherlands workshop that is expanding to meet growing European demand.
What you will do
- Work on diesel generators, loadbanks, UPS, BESS, transformers, power distribution systems and cabling.
- Deliver installation, commissioning, planned maintenance, repairs, fault-finding and decommissioning at customer sites.
- Complete site surveys and support FAT/SAT activity, system integration, synchronisation and mains/standby applications.
- Prepare, inspect, test and repair equipment at the expanding Netherlands workshop between field assignments.
- Manage work safely, prepare or follow risk assessments and method statements, and maintain accurate service and test records.
- Build trusted customer relationships and provide clear technical updates from site through to completion.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
