Power Broker – European Markets

Location: London Salary: Competitive + revenue share

Imperium Commodity Search is mandated by a leading London-based energy brokerage to expand its European Power broking desk.

The firm operates a hybrid voice and electronic execution model, providing OTC market access and price discovery to utilities, trading houses, funds and institutional participants across European power markets.

They are seeking experienced European Power Brokers (individuals or teams) with an established client network and proven ability to generate liquidity across the Continental power markets.

The Role

You will join an established energy broking platform and focus on facilitating OTC trading across the Continental European power markets, primarily covering CWE products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Brokering European power derivatives and OTC contracts including baseload, peakload, swaps and spark spreads.
  • Working client orders via voice and electronic platforms (Trayport) to facilitate price discovery and execution.
  • Maintaining active relationships with utilities, trading houses, funds and market makers.
  • Expanding liquidity on the desk by bringing new counterparties and trading flow.
  • Providing market colour and intelligence to clients across the European power markets.
  • Identifying new trading opportunities across emerging products and structures.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in speaking with brokers who have:

  • 3+ years experience brokering European power markets within an IDB, brokerage or execution platform.
  • A transferable network of active trading counterparties across utilities, funds, banks and trading houses.
  • Strong understanding of CWE power markets (Germany, France, Benelux) and related derivatives.
  • Proven ability to generate trading flow and revenue through broking activity.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong commercial instincts.
