PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

A varied role with exposure to Board and Senior Management, a fast-growing international firm with an established tax team from which to gain experience.

Addleshaw Goddard LLP is a large, multi-jurisdictional law firm with a single profit-sharing arrangement. The group's ongoing international expansion allows us to create this new role in the in-house tax team, to service the tax needs of the individual partners of the group and assist with direct tax compliance and corporate / partnership tax filings across the Addleshaw Goddard grouping worldwide. It is a great opportunity for someone with an appetite to learn and progress to become an integral part of this international and UK tax team at an exciting time.

THE TEAM

The Partnership Tax team is a small bespoke team that supports both Addleshaw Goddard LLP, associated firms and individual partners on all aspects of taxation. We strive to deliver a first-class service to our stakeholders and to be an essential asset to both the firm as a whole and the wider Finance Department. The UK based team currently consists of a Head of Partnership Tax, Senior Tax Managers, Tax Managers, Partnership Tax Accountant, and Tax Analyst.

What To Expect In This Role

Direct tax compliance for European partners and corporates (including LLPs and Companies) dealing with European and UK profits / taxation with specific element focused on the completion and filing of UK and Irish partners tax returns. Delivering on time every time, through relationships with external tax advisers and local finance teams.

Duties Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Preparation of Irish tax returns for Partners and their connections
  • Preparation of UK tax returns for profits allocated to European partners from the UK, including forecasts achieved by modelling tax obligations, cash and profit allocations for new, existing and retiring partners.
  • Preparation or review of schedules and analysis for corporate and partnership returns;
  • Maintaining relationships with, and delivering analysis to international external tax advisors;
  • Improvement and automation projects

YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

Essential

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Qualified in an appropriate tax or accounting qualification e.g. CTA (Irish Tax Institute) / ACA (Chartered Accountants Ireland) or qualified by experience.
  • Experienced in individual and corporate Irish tax return preparation, this experience may have been obtained in another professional services firm, in an accountancy practice where advice is given to clients, or in-house at another international business.
  • Self-starter, confident dealing with senior members of the organisation.
  • High level of systems/ IT literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail

Desirable

  • Experience gained at a professional partnership operating across multiple jurisdictions would be ideal but is not essential.
  • Awareness of the tax issues likely to be encountered in international jurisdictions, particularly those in which the group operates.
  • Experience of UK Partnership Accounting and tax filings.
