European Tax Manager

European Tax Manager | Southern Home Counties | Global Sports Brand

We're working with a well-known and highly respected global sports brand to find a European Tax Manager for their UK-based headquarters.

This is a genuinely compelling in-house opportunity for a tax professional ready to own a broad and varied remit, whether you're making your first move out of practice or looking to build further on an existing in-house career.

The Business

A pan-European distribution business operating across multiple markets, legal entities and supply chains, with warehouse networks spanning the UK and Europe. The tax function sits at the centre of a commercially driven finance team, with direct access to senior leadership and real influence over how the business operates and grows.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the European Tax Manager will take ownership of all tax matters for the European group. The role is broad by design — covering indirect tax, corporate and international tax, transfer pricing, and strategic advisory — and will suit someone who thrives on variety and wants to be more than a compliance technician.

VAT and Indirect Tax

  • Own the end-to-end VAT compliance process across the UK and Europe
  • Prepare and submit the UK VAT return via Oracle NetSuite, with full sign-off responsibility
  • Liaise with local advisers on European VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions, giving final approval ahead of submission
  • Manage ECSL and Intrastat reporting to deadline
  • Review EU VAT registration positions to ensure both full compliance and commercial optimisation
  • Own the systems and processes that underpin VAT determination and reporting across the group
  • Manage complex cross-border VAT flows arising from inventory movements, warehouse networks and supply chain structures

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
