I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are recruiting Animal Carers who will share our compassion and commitment for animal welfare to work across our Kennels, Cattery and Vet Clinic.
Collaborating with staff and volunteers across the Home, you will have a hand in helping all the dogs and cats in our care, from feeding, exercising, cleaning and socialising to rehoming. This can be physically and emotionally demanding but is also hugely rewarding; you can view some of our amazing rescue stories here.
We offer a caring and supportive team, lots of variety and the opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of dogs and cats who rely on us. Working on a 3-weekly rotation across our Kennels, Cattery and Vet Clinic, our Animal Carers are a crucial part of our work. We operate 7-days a week; our Animal Carers choose one of two shift patterns which can be viewed in the job description.
