Evening Cleaner - Sowe Valley Primary School

Evening Cleaner – Required 1st September 2026

Sowe Valley Primary School is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and caring School Cleaner to join our dedicated team.


About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our children, staff, and visitors. As an Evening Cleaner, you will:

  • Take pride in ensuring classrooms, communal areas, and facilities are cleaned to a high standard.
  • Contribute to creating a positive environment where children can belong, believe, and become the very best version of themselves.
  • Work as part of our friendly site team, following school cleaning schedules and health & safety procedures.
  • Uphold the school’s core values: Resilience, Responsibility, Readiness, Resourcefulness, Reflection, Risk-taking, and Relating.

Working Conditions

  • Working Hours: 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm (Monday to Friday), term time only.
  • Contract: Likely adopt a flexible or hourly basis (exact details to confirm with school).
  • Location: Sowe Valley Primary School, Coventry.

Requirements

Essential DBS/Sa(-)feguarding Requirements (Mandatory)

  • The successfully appointed candidate must undergo:
    • Enhanced criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
    • All relevant safeguarding harm prevention training.
    • Proof of two satisfactory references.
    • An online employment check (as per Keeping Children Safe in Education - KCSIE recommendations, introduced from 1 September 2022).
