Hygiene Operative - Newry Site
About the Role
We require Hygiene Operatives to work in our Newry site. This role operates from:
- 3pm to finish, Monday to Thursday
- 1pm to finish, Friday
This position requires flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours when necessary.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaning equipment & facilities: Ensuring all machinery (e.g., belts) in the factory are cleaned to the highest standard. Full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
- Adhering to safety & regulations:
- Follow all safety protocols as outlined in our legislation and company guidelines.
- Promptly report accidents, incidents, or near misses to your manager or supervisor.
- Report any maintenance requirements to your assigned Manager/Supervisor.
- Preventing accidents: Work to minimise risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Compliance with food safety laws: Adhere to current legislation for safe food production.
- Clear communication: Follow instructions from your manager/supervisor and clarify any uncertainties.
- Resource management: Use consumables responsibly during daily tasks.
- Responsibility to general operations: Complete tasks outside the core role and assist colleagues as needed.
- Health & safety compliance: Maintain high housekeeping standards and observe all safety policies.
- Flexibility: Be available to switch tasks or roles as required by the company.
- Training: Attend mandatory training, including ABP Newry’s annual Chemical Training.
- Continuous improvement: Contribute ideas to enhance plant efficiency, methods, and the working environment.
