Event Manager

Technical Project Manager – Live Event Technology (Lighting, Audio or Video)

Location: 25 minutes from Central London

Working Pattern: Hybrid (available after 6 months – 3 days in office, 2 days remote) Initial on-site period to ensure immersion in our processes, team culture, and delivery standards.

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 (core) Live events operate 24/7; occasional out-of-hours work is required.

You are a technically skilled, solutions-driven project leader who thrives in the energy of live events. You enjoy taking ownership, solving complex problems, and turning ambitious ideas into flawless real-world experiences.

You balance creativity with commercial awareness and take pride in delivering high-quality results while maintaining strong client relationships.

About the Role

As a Technical Project Manager, you will be the technical driving force behind our live event projects. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where creativity meets precision.

You won’t simply manage timelines—you will help shape client ideas into fully engineered technical solutions; then lead the delivery on-site to bring those experiences to life.

You’ll work across lighting, audio, and video systems, ensuring seamless integration across high-profile events that uphold our creativity, passion, and technical excellence.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Take ownership of projects from initial briefing through to final delivery, acting as the key technical lead.
  • Build strong client relationships through clear, confident communication (both in-person and remote).
  • Translate client briefs into technical solutions by asking the right questions and identifying core objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop creative and technically robust responses to briefs.
  • Produce accurate quotations, proposals, and technical solutions aligned with client needs and budgets.
  • Support clients in refining briefs to ensure optimal delivery outcomes.
  • Lead and motivate technical teams across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Create technical documentation, including:
    • Equipment specifications
    • Plots
    • Supporting paperwork
  • Oversee on-site delivery, coordinating lighting, audio, and video departments.
  • Manage logistics, budgets, and resource planning across projects.
  • Adapt quickly to changing requirements while maintaining clear team alignment and delivery standards.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Strong professional experience in live event production or technical project delivery.
  • Deep expertise in one core discipline: lighting, audio, or video.
  • Broad working knowledge of the other technical disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of system design and on-site implementation.
  • Experience producing technical drawings and documentation (AutoCAD proficiency desirable).
  • Familiarity with rental and event planning software.
  • Confidence managing budgets, logistics, and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Strong client-facing skills, able to interpret and challenge briefs constructively.
  • A calm, organised approach under pressure in fast-paced live environments.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (advantageous).

  • Hands-on project ownership with a mix of creativity and commercial decisiveness.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills.
